Inverter/UPS with Low-Voltage Charging: A New Standard for Battery Charging so that in low voltage areas, the Charging in Inverter/UPS works fine without any external voltage stabilizer. The mains power voltage range for properly charging a battery depends on the type of charger designed in the Inverter/UPS.

When the mains voltage is low, the Inverter will still attempt to charge the battery, but the charging speed will be slower. The Inverter must draw more current from the mains to provide enough power to charge the battery.

If the mains voltage is too low, the Inverter may not be able to charge the battery at all. This is because the Inverter’s input voltage range is limited. The input voltage range of an inverter is the range of voltages that the Inverter can accept from the mains. If the mains voltage falls outside the Inverter’s input voltage range, the Inverter will not be able to operate and may not charge the battery.

The typical mains power voltage range for a 12V lead-acid tubular, SMF or gel battery is 110V to 120V or 220V to 240V to charge the battery. This means the mains power voltage should be within this range for the battery to charge appropriately. But at Su-vastika, we have made this range very wide as there are many areas in India, Africa and Middle Eastern countries where the Power situation is quite bad, and the voltage fluctuations are very high and charging the battery through the Inverter they need to install the stabilizer. We have developed our charging system, controlled the charging system through our microprocessor algorithm and designed the transformer of our Inverter/UPS so that the charging current remains constant during the voltage fluctuations and the range is quite broad. Our Pure Sinewave ATC series has a range of 90V to 280Volts, where the charging current is constant throughout the range so that the battery is charged fast and voltage fluctuation does not affect the charging time. Most of the other products available in the market have various charging currents with the change in the voltage from the Mains Power. In Su-vastika, we have designed our products where the charging current can vary by the switch provided at the back panel. Since the voltage variations are very high in a few of these countries, we can fast charge the battery by changing the settings of these switches at the back, or if the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi-based product is there, you can control the back switch through the mobile application. As you can see, the battery is being charged through the Mains power, and no change is happening even during the power fluctuations.https://suvastika.com/inverters-with-low-voltage-charging-a-new-standard-for-battery-chargers/#:~:text=When%20the%20mains%20voltage%20is,charge%20the%20battery%20at%20all.

To show this condition, we at Su-vastika designed a mobile application which can be operated through Bluetooth or Wifi, and the user can see the voltage and the charging wattage and can also vary the charging current through the application settings. No other company has made such a sophisticated application where you can see this condition and do the settings through the application.

This design is wicked! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

  1. […] So we test the backup time on a 150 Ah Tubular battery for different ratings. We have tested these results on three standard manufacturers and will not like to take a name here because the intent is not to take any particular brand. The battery manufacturer should also write on their battery for maximum Load limits as that will help to save battery misuse and life.https://suvastika.com/inverters-with-low-voltage-charging-a-new-standard-for-battery-chargers/ […]
