An inverter/UPS overload condition occurs when the Inverter draws more power than it is designed to handle. This can happen if you run too many appliances simultaneously or use a device with more power than the inverter/UPS rating. When an inverter is overloaded, it will typically shut down to prevent damage to itself or the battery. Nowadays, manufacturers in India have removed the overload warning and shut down the Inverter/UPS the moment an Overload or Short circuit happens in their Inverter/UPS. This is a big concern for the industry as they have reduced the heat sink of the Mosfets and done the cost-cutting. Instead, they have increased the load wattage but removed the Overload warning messages or Short circuit warning messages to save the cost of making an Inverter/UPS, which cant be rugged.
What are the Auto Overload Restart feature and Auto Short Circuit Restart feature?
Suppose one has to check the ruggedness of the Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS. In that case, the only review is to short-circuit the Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS in the battery mode at least five times when the total load runs. If the pure Sinewave UPS/Inverter restarts after that, this will be considered a rugged Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS. One can say that the life of the Inverter/UPS will be at least 20 years, and it will work without fail.
Another check is the overload percentage check. How much time can an inverter/UPS overload take? So one has to check at the 125%, 150% and 200% load capacity and note down the timing for the withstanding power of the Inverter/UPS. Whichever inverter/UPS stands for the highest time can be considered the best Inverter/UPS. The critical parameter is the restart feature after the Overload and Short Circuit. Suppose this feature is missing in the inverter/UPS. In that case, one should never buy that inverter/UPS as this will fail on Overload and short circuit as the manufacturer does not know the importance of the Auto Overload Restart and Auto Short Circuit Restart feature.
In Su-vastika, we have given the retry eight times on Overload in Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS models. This helps the user to reduce the Overload rather than going to the Pure Sinewave inverter/UPS to resetting the front switch every time an overload happens. This feature is called the Auto Overload Restart feature.
Let us imagine a situation in which the kids and older adults are at home, and by mistake, kids switch on the extra load, and a Power cut is going on, and no adult person is there at home. Now imagine the situation that the regular inverter/UPS is gone off immediately, and there is no way that kid can reach the Inverter/UPS, and there is complete darkness at home, and the kid will get scared and live all his life with the fear of darkness.
Nyctophobia is an extreme fear of the dark. The name comes from the Greek word for night. Children and adults with nyctophobia may fear being alone in the dark. They may have anxiety in dark places, and they may have trouble sleeping in a darkened room, or they are scared of dark spots, and they fear going alone to the toilets or staying alone at home.https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22785-nyctophobia-fear-of-the-dark#:~:text=Nyctophobia%20is%20an%20extreme%20fear,leaving%20the%20house%20after%20dark.
Nyctophobia develops mainly when the child is in the age bracket of 2 to 10 years of age, as the darkness creates fear in a child’s mind, which stays all along the life while growing to get old.
Below are the time duration of load handling capability as per load percentage:-
In Su-vastika Pure Sinewave UPS/Inverter, If the Load is 100% to 110%, it will run the load for 1.5 minutes and take four times retry. If the load is 110% to 125%, then it will run the load for 25 sec. And take four times retry. If the load is 125% to 150%, it will run the load for 15 sec. and take four times retry. If the load is 150% to 175%, then it will run the load for six sec. And takes four times to retry. If the load is 175% to 200%, then it will run the load for 0.8 sec. And take four times retry. If the load is >200%, it will run the load for 0.48 sec. and handle four times retry. If the load is 300%, it will shut down the load with short-circuit protection and bring a retry twice. This is a major checkpoint for any technical person to check the product’s ruggedness.
Let us see if the Overload happens and the Inverter/UPS goes into the Overload mode and shuts down the load or power of the home. This process is inconvenient for the user as the office house will go into darkness whenever there is an overload. One has to reach the place where the Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS is installed, and there may be a time when the mobile phone is not around, and the Overload or short circuit happens, and the Inverter/UPS is shut down. How will the user reach the inverter/UPS in the dark as the user does not get any chance to reduce the load and it just becomes dark suddenly, and doesn’t know what has gone wrong?https://suvastika.com/overload-led-blinking-in-inverter-ups-solar-pcu-solar-inverter/
Since the Inverter is lying at a distance, so you might not know of the overload buzzer warning. Still, the load starts intermittently, indicating that the Inverter is overloading. After each warning, it will shut down and try to retake the load, and you can feel that when the mains power is not present, the battery mode inverter is switching off the load and then again trying to switch on the load. One can easily see that this is the overload condition, and one has to switch off the few loads, and you can see the power become normal.
If you reduce the load, the overload condition is averted. If you don’t act within the given six warnings, the Inverter will shut down, and one has to go to the Inverter to reset the front button after reducing the load; otherwise, the same situation will be repeated.
Su-vastika’s different models have different warnings for Overload, also mentioned in the user manual. In smaller capacity, Inverter/UPS/Home UPS, there are six warnings before it goes to the Overload shut down mode, after which the user has to reset the Inverter through the mains switch of Inverter/UPS or the mobile phone application if you are using this application.
The process to stop the overloading is the same. If you reduce the Overload by decreasing the load, then the Inverter will automatically become routine and no need to reset the switch of an inverter.
The price of Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS having an overload warning with a restart feature and the Price of the Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS with no restart feature has hardly any difference.
We have designed the Overload feature with the help of a microprocessor in all our products for the ease of a consumer and made our products rugged to take Overload up to 4 times, a unique feature in our Inverter.
OVERLOAD WARNING THROUGH MOBILE APP
Su-vastika has launched Bluetooth/WiFi Mobile app for all its models, which can be easily downloaded from IOS/Play store, through which one user control/monitors the Inverters.
Our mobile application has given an overload warning, as shown in the photo, along with the audio alerts. It also shows the percentage of the running load so that you know how much load the user needs to reduce. Once the Overload is reduced by switching off the appliances, the user can see a reduction in load and actual load live on the app itself.
Also, in case of shutdown in the overload condition, the user can reset the Overload with a button in the mobile app itself so that one does not get troubled by going to the pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS physically.
Mobile app with Bluetooth or WiFi is the only application made by Su-vastika where we can control the Overload condition through this mobile application.
When choosing the suitable battery inverter, we must select the battery, and Tubular battery sizing is essential.https://suvastika.com/12volt-tubular-battery-inverter-system-and-advantages-and-disadvantages/
Nowadays, the Lithium battery is cheaper than the tubular battery as the Tubular battery life and capacity compared to the Tubular battery are not comparable. When choosing the battery sizing for a Tubular battery, one must see the Load chart, which no shopkeeper will tell you as most of the Inverter/UPS resellers has hardly any knowledge about the load chart of a tubular battery having C20 or C10 rating.https://pallavaggarwal.in/2023/06/29/lithium-battery-vs-tubular-battery/

[…] Most companies service the consumer because the MOSFETs of the Inverter/UPS keep getting burnt when the user is using the Inverter/UPS to its full capacity. The user and dealer don’t know why this is happening. In certain brands, taking the AMC contract of an Inverter/UPS is a must, as the failure in the inverter/UPS keeps happening after every six months. In today’s times, most branded Inverters/UPS come with a microcontroller in which the embedded software is written, which controls all the features of the Inverter/UPS, it’s a Digital or Squarewave inverter Or Pure Sinewave Inverter/UPS. https://suvastika.com/how-to-choose-inverter-ups/ […]
